DC Moses Adewole Takes Over Mantle of Leadership From Comptroller Aliyu Gambo.

The Oyo/Osun Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, recently has recorded a seamless leadership transition with the assumption of office Deputy Comptroller of Customs, Moses Wale Adewole as the acting Customs Area Controller, following the redeployment of Comptroller Aliyu Iyere Gambo to the Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone ‘A’ Lagos.

Speaking during the handing-over ceremony, Deputy Comptroller Moses Adewole expressed deep appreciation to the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, fnipr, psc (+) PhD and the entire Management team for the trust reposed in him. He described the appointment as a call to higher service and pledged to uphold professionalism, integrity, discipline and teamwork in advancing the mandate of the Nigeria Customs Service.

He commended Comptroller Aliyu Iyere Gambo for his exemplary leadership and notable achievements in revenue collection, Anti-Smuggling Operations, and stakeholders engagement. He assured officers and stakeholders that his administration would consolidate on the gains recorded, and work more diligently to surpass the existing achievements.

He outlined his operational priorities to include enhanced and transparent revenue collection, strengthen Anti-Smuggling Operations through collaboration with sister agencies, continuous capacity building and welfare of officers, improve work ethics and discipline, as well as sustain engagement with traditional institutions, business communities, importers, exports, and other relevant stakeholders across the states.

Comptroller Gambo, the out going Area Controller, in his remark described his tenure as fulfilling and impactful, marked by strong collaboration with the government and people of Oyo and Osun states, effective synergy with sister agencies, and sustained engagement with traditional rulers within the command’s of responsibility.

He highlighted the command’s improved revenue performance achieved through enhanced compliance, structured engagement with excise factories, and the deployment of the B’Odogwu Unified Customs Management System. Aliyu also praised the officers and men of the Command for their professionalism and resilience, which translated into significant Anti-Smuggling successes and protection of the national economy.

Therefore, he urged DC Moses Adewole to sustain capacity building initiatives, deepen engagement with border communities, and ensure the completion of the Command’s Corporate Social Responsibility project, the proposed Solar Powered Healthcare Centreat Iragbili.

The ceremony was concluded with a goodwill message and reaffirmed commitment by both officers to service excellence, continuity, and the overall vision of the Nigeria Customs Service.
