The Customs Area Controller of the Port Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Command, Comptroller Joe Anani has announced the sum of #305, 347,173,787.98 revenue collected from January to September, 2025.

Comptroller Anani in his maiden speech said that the figure is 96.64% which almost equal to the #362,521,085,250.98 collected between January to December, 2024.

Anani said that the command also intercepted a 1X20FT container with number GCNU,1275880 falsely declared as supermarket items was found to contain pharmaceutical drugs upon 100% examination.

Anani revealed that for third quarter of 2025, the command recorded a total of #116,243,603,670.58 revenue which is 34.3% higher than the #86,584,012,733.43 collected during the third quarter of 2024.

According to him, a comparative analysis of the Command’s revenue performance in the last quarter shows a steady increase in revenue collection even with B’Odogwu platform teething challenges which the command is fast overcoming.

On anti smuggling, Anani said that two containers of unregistered medicines were seized which include, one Tactical made in Taiwan Airsoft pistol, two Magazines and 12 rounds of live ammunitions, 1x40ft container with number ACLU9806850 falsely declared as magnetic resonance imaging apparatus was found to contain 6,262 cartons of various antibiotics brands.

In line with the CGC’s directive on enhancing customs community relationship, the command’s relationship with sister agencies and other stakeholders have been boosted.

With the collaboration thrust of the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, Comptroller Anani handed over the seized containers to the Director of Port Inspection Directorate of NAFDAC.

Comptroller Anani said that the command’s anti-bunkering and enforcement remains intact without compromise. “As a command, we are not compromising national security on the alter of trade facilitation,” he added.

The Director, Port Inspectorate Division of NAFDAC, Dr Olakunle Olaniran who received the seized items thanked the NCS for their life saving enforcement drive.

He commended the Memorandum of Understanding between both agencies while urging Nigerians to always patronize only registered pharmaceutical vendors.

In his closing remark, Olaniran praised Comptroller Anani for supporting NAFDAC in its duty to safeguarding Nigerian lives by ensuring that such prohibited medicines including hypertension drugs and other prescription medications without NAFDAC Numbers are not allowed into the service country.
