The Powerful Pen Media Applauds NPA on Port Infrastructure Development.

… MAJAN President Congratulates NPA Managing Director on Election as IAPH Vice President.

The Powerful Pen Media Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has applauded the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, on. Port Infrastructure Development in the country.

The Chapel gave this commendation during its Press Week programme, which took place on Thursday 28, August, 2025, in Lagos, when members assembled on a round-table to assess the performance of maritime agencies operating on the port corridors in Lagos.

Aside port port Infrastructure development embarked upon by NPA, the group also commended the Managing Director, Dr Abubakar Dantsoho for working tirelessly to ensure that NPA compete favourably with other ports in the world.

During the assessment, all members of the Chapel acknowledged the leadership prowess and resilience Dr Abubakar Dantsoho is displaying in moving the port industry forward for greater prosperity.

In the same vein, the. Maritime Journalists Association (MAJAN), President, Comrade Jerry Aguigbo congratulated the Managing Director of NPA on his election as Vice President of the International Association for Ports and Harbours (IAPH).

Comrade Jerry Aguigbo described Dr Dantsoho as a go-getter and a leader, who is focused in carrying out his statutory responsibilities for the benefit of the Nigerian economy.

According to him, “Dr Dantsoho is doing a lot in improving port operations in the country. He is also putting measures in place to enhance development of the port industry. As.such, his election as Vice President of IAPH is well merited considering his performance since he came on. board,” he said.

“Dr Dantsoho is result -driven in his approach and industry players have acknowledged his efforts. His election is certainly a great honor and global recognition for Nigerian as a country,” he added.
