The Customs Area Controller, Ogun 1 Command has promised to to lay a new foundation for a new mosque at a designated site within the premises. He assured of necessary support to enable timely completion of the new Mosque in line with the Command’s protocol.
Investigation conducted established that the mosque construction was initiated without approval as it contradicts the master plan for the school and Junior Officers Barracks premises.
Comptroller Ojo quick intervention on the matter was to foster mutual respect. Mosque within the barracks was recently renovated and expanded under the same officer in charge of Building.
Therefore, Comptroller Ojo call on esteemed stakeholders to exercise patience and understanding while respecting the sensitive nature of religious matters. He cautioned the school administration to uphold harmony and good relations within and around the barracks community.
However, there are ample facilities for religious activities within the Command’s areas which includes mosque and a chapel in the border area, as well as in the CAC’s residence, Senior and Junior Officers Barracks.
