Seme Customs Command Seizes goods worth #1.99 Billion, Records 182% Revenue Increase in One Month.

The Seme Customs Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has seized 10,000 bags of expired flour and other items worth #1.999,093,429.00 billion in one month.

A breakdown of the seizures include; 10,000 bags of expired flour from Egypt, 1,104 parcels of Cannabis Sativa, 120 packs of 120mg Tramadol with 2 suspects that are handed over to the NDLEA, 2,043 bags of 50kg foreign parboiled rice, 150 bales of second hand clothing, 169 bottles of DSP Cough Syrup with Codeine and 5 used vehicles with Duty Paid Value of #1,999,093,429.00.

Further more, the command recorded a total of #1,500,029,233.38 in the month of September 2025 as against #531, 462,332.45 collected in August 2025 representing an increase of over 182%.

The Customs Area Controller of Seme Command, Comptroller Wale Adenuga said that the outstanding performance reflects the effectiveness of the CGC ‘s reform agenda which is built on compliance, transparency and data driven monitoring of goods as well as the dedication of officers and men who has continued to embody his vision of a modern, efficient and accountable Customs Service.

On non oil export trade facilitation, the command facilitated 53,989.46 metric tonnes of goods with a Free on Board (FOB) valued #7,969,376,198.78 only.

The total of Nigeria Export Supervision Scheme (NESS) fee stood at #39,868,354.42.
The export comprised of agricultural goods, demonstrate the renewed confidence of exporters licensed in the command as a viable trade hub under the ECOWAS Trade Liberalization Scheme (ETLS).
