The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) under the leadership of Comrade (Prince) Adewale Adeyanju, fnli, HFCPSP has called on member not to par-take in the October 1st planned nationwide protest by unknown individuals.

As a Union comprising of essential service provider and critical economic actors, our members are committed to delivering uninterrupted services, as demonstrated during the COVID 19 lockdown when members worked tirelessly despite restrictive measures.

Consequently, MWUN has stated clearly that while the union do not begrudge any Nigerian citizens his or her right to peacefully assemble and expression of themselves, the Union and its members do not take industrial action directive that do not emanate from the Union recognised organ such as the Central Working Committee (CWC).
The planned October 1st, 3024 protest is not called by the Unions CWC and we are therefore not oblige to participate.
