Comptroller Edeldouk Intercepts Cannabis Sativa Wort #256. 2 Million.

The Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Joy Eghosa Edeldouk of the Kirikiri Lighter Command, Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted Cannabis Sativa worth #256,250,000 million naira.

In line with the CGC’s policy trust of collaboration, consolidation and innovation, vigilant customs officers of the command working in conjunction with the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has intercepted a consignment of cannabis sativa weighing 51.25kg valued at #256, 250,000. This according to the press release, ” This violates the provision of the Nigeria Customs Service Act 2023, section 55 sub-section 1c and 1f.

The seizures is a testament to the commands continued dedication and commitment of safeguarding our borders from the importation of illicit and harmful substances.

The negative effects of drugs such as cannabis sativa, on individuais, families and society at large ranges from destruction of lives, increase in crime, fueling violence and crisis as well as other societal vices. By keeping keeping these dangerous substances out of our communities, we are preventing untold harm and helping to secure a safe future for our citizens, particularly our youths who are most vulnerable to the allure of these harmful substances.
In furtherance, Comptroller Edeldouk handed over the seized drugs to NDLEA for further investigation and prosecution.
